Transmission line worker Keijo Tujunen celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends on 6 March 2017. Tujunen’s career as a main grid builder was also recognised at the traditional Linjamiespäivät event.
Partygoers also included his former colleagues from IVO. In addition to other good wishes, the centenarian received a written greeting from the President of the Republic and his spouse.
Keijo Tujunen’s career and advanced years were also honoured on 28 April in Lahti at the traditional Linjamiespäivät event. Tujunen has been a regular participant at gatherings for transmission line people.
Distinguished main grid constructors meet at Linjamiespäivät each year. The participants are mainly from the time of IVO.
Keijo Turunen’s career took place during the golden years of Finland’s electrification; he was in charge of main grid construction for around 30 years. Among other things, Tujunen also dealt with the first cross-border transmission to Sweden.
