The platform is aimed at utilising decentralised resources to maintain the power balance and meet the needs of distribution system operators as well as balance responsible parties. This is a step towards a more real-time electricity market and more effective use of decentralised resources. The platform will also create opportunities for innovative market operators and offer earnings possibilities for owners of flexible resources.

In addition to Fingrid, the other Finnish participants are Elenia, Empower and Tampere University of Technology.
