You know how to observe work, identify shortcomings and successes, and address them constructively. Congratulations to all teams who have succeeded in this – you have done many things right!

When safety observations are made voluntarily without a reward, they are collectively developed into solutions and discussed in safety toolbox talks – and not erased from memory. Could there be a more relevant and interesting topic for a safety toolbox talk than a safety observation made by your team?

This year’s occupational safety theme highlights the importance of professional skill.

It is professional skill that enables choosing safe work methods and avoiding hazards. On the other hand, proactive safety routines give a professional impression. Proactivity facilitates planning, and planning facilitates the predictability of the end result. In other words, it increases trust. After all, we all tend to trust people who do what is agreed.

This year’s occupational safety theme highlights the importance of professional skill.

Conditions cannot always be chosen at the worksite, but we have major influence over the operating methods.

We have set three focus areas for occupational safety: working at heights, conductor works, induced voltage and electrical safety. All of these focus areas highlight the importance of professional skill, cooperation, anticipation and safe working methods.

This year, we will take another few steps towards a more comprehensive safety mindset. Everyone working at Fingrid sites plays an important role in ensuring overall safety.

We will publish a form for convenient reporting of observations on corporate safety and security in a more general sense. Their importance cannot be overemphasised when working in the best interest of society.
